Copart Q2 EPS Flat - Quick Facts

(RTTNews.com) - Copart Inc. ( CPRT ) reported that its second-quarter net income rose to $39.64 million, from $40.60 million in the same quarter last year. On a per share basis, profit remained flat at 31 cents for both the comparable second quarters. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.36 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The latest quarter results were offset by higher yard operation and sales costs.

Meanwhile, total service revenues and vehicle sales for the quarter increased to $266.18 million from $227.90 million in the prior year quarter. Seven analysts had a consensus revenue estimate of $244.71 million for the quarter.
