A pair of insiders at coal company Consol Energy ( CNX ) bought shares earlier this week. Alvin Carpenter, who sits on the company's board of directors, bought 30,000 shares on Feb. 10 at $36.71 per share for a total outlay of $1,101,300. On the same day, The company's CFO, David Khani, bought 2,800 shares for $36.67 per share, spending a total of $102,676.

IK-> The technicals for CNX ($37.90 up $0.69) are bullish with a neutral trend. Recent support has been around $36.50 and recent resistance has been around $38.18. Standard & Poor's has a three STARs (out of five) rating on the stock. Look at the March 29/33 bull-put spread for a 20-cent credit. That's a 5.26% return and the stock has to fall 12.9% to cause a problem.  [InvestorsKeyhole, Various news and data services]
