Compass H1 Profit Rises; Proposes Special Dividend - Quick Facts

(RTTNews.com) - Food and support services company Compass Group Plc (CPG.L, CMPGF.PK) Wednesday reported profit before tax for the first half of 595 million pounds, higher than 575 million pounds in the prior year.

On a per share basis, earnings increased to 24.7 pence from 23.0 pence per share last year.

For the first half ended March 31, 2014, the company posted revenues of 8.66 billion pounds, down 1.6 percent from 8.80 billion pounds a year ago.

Based on the ongoing strength of the company's performance, the board has proposed to increase ordinary interim dividend by 10 percent to 8.8 pence per share and return a further 1 billion pounds of cash to shareholders through a special dividend.
