• Molycorp Inc (NYSE: MCP ) said Chief Operating Officer Geoff Bedford will be the company's next president and chief executive officer from December 2, taking over from interim CEO Constantine Karayannopoulos 

• Shares of J.C. Penney Company, Inc. (NYSE: JCP ) rose 0.8% after the company posted a lower drop in  same-store sales  for September than that experienced in August

• Shares of McKesson Corporation (NYSE: MCK ) jumped more than 3% after the news that the company is in talks to purchase Celesio AG for as much as $5 billion
