•    Social networking giant Facebook, Inc. (NASDAQ: FB ) said that it now has one billion active users

•    Shares of NuVasive, Inc. (NASDAQ: NUVA ) crashed 32.9% after the company announced a third quarter revenue forecast of $147 million, lower than prior estimates

•    3M Co. (NYSE: MMM ) terminated an agreement to take over Avery Dennison Corporation's (NYSE: AVY ) consumer products divisions.  Subsequently, shares of the company slipped 4.4%

•    Google Inc. (NASDAQ: GOOG ) touched a new 52-week high after jumping 0.7% to $768.05 a share yesterday, following a settlement with the nation's publishers regarding its book-scanning project
