•    Adobe Systems Incorporated (NASDAQ: ADBE ) posted second quarter earnings per share of $0.46, missing the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $0.48

•    Jabil Circuit, Inc. (NYSE: JBL ) reported third quarter earnings per share of $0.54, missing the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $0.56 by 2 cents

•    Shares of Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE: CHH ) gained 7.2% after it announced a special cash dividend of about $600 million. The company is issuing senior notes of about $400 million due 2022 to finance the dividend plan

•    Idenix Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: IDIX ) surged 14.3% after it announced positive results from clinical trials of its hepatitis C drug

•    Actuant Corporation (NYSE: ATU ) plunged 3.4% after the company announced that third quarter results have been affected by prevailing conditions in Europe and China. However it posted earnings per share of $0.60, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $0.59 by a penny
