•    Shares of General Motors Company (NYSE: GM ) jumped 5.6% after reporting a 15.5% jump in its monthly sales


•    BlackRock, Inc. (NYSE: BLK ) announced that it would purchase the European private equity and infrastructure fund of funds unit of Swiss Re's  


•    Shares of MModal Inc (NASDAQ: MODL ) jumped 8.4% following announcement that it would go private based on a buyout deal worth $1.1 billion with One Equity Partners
