•    Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT ) plunged 1.4% following a New York Times report according to which sales of PCs based on the newly launched operating system Windows 8 were dismal

•    Shares of Groupon Inc. (NASDAQ: GRPN ) declined 3.9% on Monday, after it announced late Friday that it has acquired CommerceInterface, a web-based channel management firm

•    Herbalife Ltd. (NYSE: HLF ) fell 4.4% after it announced that a meeting with investors and analysts has been postponed to January 10, 2013. The company further added that it may raise its existing buyback limit of $50 million in upcoming quarters

•    Apache Corporation (NYSE: APA ) reported on Monday that its Canadian subsidiary has entered into a joint venture with Chevron Corporation's (NYSE: CVX ) Canadian subsidiary to acquire and run the Kitimat natural gas plant
