•    3M Co (NYSE: MMM ) reported first quarter earnings per share of $1.59, surpassing the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.48

•    The McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc. (NYSE: MHP ) posted first quarter earnings per share of $0.51, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $0.49

•    AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T ) reported first quarter earnings per share of $0.60, surpassing the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $0.57 by 3 cents

•    Regions Financial Corporation (NYSE: RF ) jumped 5.9% after the company posted first quarter earnings per share of $0.14, breezing past the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $0.08
