Canadian stocks closed lower on Monday, notching up a third consecutive negative performance. Most sectors were lower with Financials and Industrials driving losses. Info Tech bucked the trend.

Stocks opened weak and continued to lose momentum after the ISM released a weaker than expected services report in the US. The Institute for Supply Management reported that its services index dropped to 53% in December from 53.9% in November. That compared to the 54.8% headline number expected by economists.

Colossus Minerals Inc. (CSI.TO) was the most active share on the TSX. Today the company announced that the special meeting of holders of the company's outstanding gold-linked notes called for January 10, 2014 has been cancelled. The special meeting of shareholders of the company that was called for January 20, 2014 has also been cancelled. The stock close down 7.7% with 6.5 million shares changing hands.
