Canada Stocks Close Lower; Loonie Hits 4-year Low; Most Sectors Lower; Osisko Mining Corp

Canadian stocks closed lower on Monday, dragged lower by the US stock market which saw triple digit losses in the Dow Industrials. Most sectors were lower led by Energy and Info Tech but Metals and Mining bucked the trend.

The Canadian dollar slipped to a 4-year low as yields continued to fall in the wake of Friday's weaker than expected unemployment report. The next level of target support is seen near $0.9150 which coincide with the October 2009 lows.

Osisko Mining Corp (OSK.TO) was the most active share on the TSX with no fresh specific stock news driving volume. The stock closed up 20.5% with 64 million shares changing hands.
