Canada Stocks Close Higher; Hit 2.5 Year Highs; Sectors Mixed; Bombardier Most Active

Canada stocks closed higher on Friday notching up a fresh 2.5 year high. Sectors were mixed with Info Tech driving gains, but Metals and Mining bucked the trend.

Stocks traded in light volume on Friday ahead of the US Martin Luther King day holiday in which the US markets are closed.

Plane maker Bombardier Inc. (BBD-B.TO) fell to its 11-month low Friday after being downgraded by Canaccord Genuity to hold from buy. The target price has also been reduced to $4.25 from $6. The stock closed down 1.4% with 23 million shares changing hands.
