Broker Satisfaction Of Active Stock Investors Is High

Active stock market investors expect a lot of their brokers, but they tend to be loyal customers.

In IBD's Best Online Brokers survey , conducted on its Investors.com website, only 18% of respondents said they had switched online brokers in the past five years, most often due to cost.

Asked to rate their overall satisfaction with their broker based on all aspects of the service they received in the prior six months, 61% said they were very satisfied.

Most of the respondents reported substantial experience investing in the stock market . They included many active traders, with 17% reporting they make six to 10 trades monthly, and an additional 22% saying they make 11 or more.

The overwhelming majority of the respondents -- 92% -- invest in individual stocks. Fifty-two percent said they invest in mutual funds, 44% ETFs , 24% bonds and 22% stock options.
