Brazil's January Tax Revenue Rose 13.2% to BRL116.1 Billion

BRASILIA--Brazilian tax revenue rose a nominal 13.2% in January from a year earlier as collections from corporations rose because of an annual adjustment payment.

The federal government took in 116.1 billion Brazilian reais ($58.8 billion) in January, up from BRL102.6 billion in the same month in 2013. The inflation-adjusted increase was 6.6%.

Revenue from the corporate tax rose an inflation-adjusted 20.3% to BRL34 billion.
