SAO PAULO, Nov 14 (Reuters) - The budget for Brazil's top social assistance program, the Bolsa Familia, will increase faster than inflation in 2018, a top Brazilian official said on Monday, after two years of restrained spending on the benefit.

Social Development Minister Osmar Terra told attendees at an event in Rio de Janeiro the readjustment would occur in March or April, but did not specify how much the benefit would rise, local media reported.

"This year, there should be a readjustment to the Bolsa Familia, in line with inflation plus a little more," Terra was cited as saying by newspaper Valor Econ├┤mico.
