) recently announced that cloud services provider Infoplex will use
its Business Service Management (BSM) platform to efficiently
manage its services. Terms of the deal were kept confidential.
Australia-based Infoplex serves more than 120 organizations with
its cloud and hosting services. Infloplex was looking for a
comprehensive information technology (IT) management solution to
manage its vast operations and monitor its services as per customer
requirement. The search ended with BMC Software's BSM platform.
As per the deal, BMC Software will offer its Cloud Lifecycle
Management and Cloud Operations Management solutions to Infoplex to
help the company to automate its cloud services.
The BSM platform helps to achieve an efficient IT ecosystem by
reducing downtime up to 75.0%, delivering services 30.0% faster,
adapting to a new system promptly and minimizing cost through
centralized supervision. The solutions will help Infoplex to reduce
operational and maintenance cost as well as to boost customer
satisfaction.
The popularity of BMC Software's ITSM suites is growing. We also
believe that the company's growing exposure to the cloud will prove
to be a catalyst. Last month, BMC Software's Cloud Lifecycle
Management solution was chosen by two cloud-based companies, JDA
Software Group and Quality Technology Services. Also, IT
outsourcing services provider CompuCom Systems Inc. deployed Cloud
Lifecycle Management and Cloud Operations Management solutions to
help its customers migrate to cloud environments smoothly.
The deal flows over the past few quarters are encouraging. Though
BMC's first quarter results were modest, we believe that the series
of deal wins could have a positive impact on the next quarter's
revenue.
However, weaker expenditure from different governments and ongoing
European economic turmoil will remain headwinds in the near term.
At the same time, heightened competition from big industry players
such as
IBM Corp.

),
Hewlett-Packard Company
(
HPQ
),
EMC Corp.
(
EMC
) and
CA Inc.
(
CA
) remain a concern.
Currently, BMC Software has a Zacks #3 Rank, indicating a
short-term Hold rating.
