Depository receipts of Asian stocks were trading higher on
Monday morning, benefiting from gains seen in solar energy
The Bank of New York Mellon Asia ADR Index was up 0.36% to
154.21, representing a nine day high.
In North Asia, Autohome (
), an online destination for automobile consumers, led the gainers
by a strong margin, trading 9.14% higher. Bitauto (
), a provider of internet content and marketing services for
China's automotive industry, was also up 5.36%.
Solar panel manufacturer Yingli Green Energy (
) was up 3.90%, whilst semiconductor company Himax Technologies (
) was up 2.16% and solar power product manufacturer JinkoSolar (
), was up 1.99%.
In South Asia, SIFY (SIFY), an information and communications
technology company, saw a 0.99% gain and Infosys (INFY), an Indian
multinational corporation, jumped 0.75%.
Decliners in North Asia were led by Qihoo 360 Technology (QIHU),
a Chinese internet company, which was down 6.37%. China Ming Yang
Wind Power (MYUS), a wind turbine manufacturer dropped 5.06%. Real
estate Internet portal SouFun (SFUN) was down 3.52% and 58.com
(WUBA), an online marketplace, was down 3.43%.
In South Asia, Rediff.com India (REDF), an Indian news,
information and shopping web portal, was down 1.27%. ICICI Bank
(IBN) was down 1.21% and Indian automotive manufacturing company
Tata Motors (TTM) was down 0.92%.
