Atlantic Power to Sell Interests Project for $56 Mln; Shares Up from New 52-Week Low, Rise 1%

Atlantic Power Corp. ( AT ) shares are slightly higher after a subsidiary of the company entered into a $56 million deal with Duke-American Transmission Company, LLC, to sell the company's interests in the Path 15 transmission project.

Duke-American Transmission Company is a joint venture between Duke Energy ( DUK ) and American Transmission Co. All project level debt issued by Path 15, totaling $137 million as of December 31, 2012, will transfer with the sale.

AT is up 0.2% to $5.44, above the new low in a 52-week range of $5.27 - $15.18.

DUK is up 0.9% to $69.70 in a 52-week range of $59.63 - $71.13.
