ANR Crosses Critical Technical Indicator


In trading on Monday, shares of Alpha Natural Resources Inc (Symbol: ANR) entered into oversold territory, changing hands as low as $5.23 per share. We define oversold territory using the Relative Strength Index, or RSI, which is a technical analysis indicator used to measure momentum on a scale of zero to 100. A stock is considered to be oversold if the RSI reading falls below 30.

Looking at a chart of one year performance (below), ANR's low point in its 52 week range is $4.78 per share, with $9.90 as the 52 week high point - that compares with a last trade of $5.25. Alpha Natural Resources Inc shares are currently trading down about 7.4% on the day.

According to the ETF Finder at ETF Channel, ANR makes up 3.14% of the Coal ETF (Symbol: KOL) which is trading lower by about 2.2% on the day Monday.
