Analyst Actions: National Bank Upgrades Agrium to Sector Perform, Hikes Target to $97.50; Shares Hit 52-Week High

National Bank has upgraded Agrium Inc. (AGU.TO,AGU) to sector perform from underperform, while hiking its price target to $97.50 from $71.

It also upgraded rival fertilizer firm Potash Corp. today. National Bank anticipates that a surge in corn plantings will increase fertilizer demand.

Agrium has 15 strong buy ratings, 2 buy ratings, 4 holds and only 1 sell, according to Zacks Investment Research. The mean price target on US-listed shares is $101.73, according to Thomson/First Call.

Agrium shares were last quoted at $92.28, up $2.05, or 2.2%, after hitting a 52-week high of $93.56 this morning.
