its Kindle Fire tablets. Apart from managing screen time and
setting bedtime curfews, the new version of Kindle FreeTime
options will be equipped with educational features. Currently,
the Kindle FreeTime Unlimited service is available at a price of
$2.99 per month.

Kindle FreeTime, Amazon's parental control software will now
enable parents to block access to Kindle's more fun-oriented apps
like cartoons and games, until specific study goals are met. The
new feature named "Learn First" will enable parents to ensure
that learning comes first and set daily educational goals for
Amazon has added numerous new educational books, apps, games and
videos to the Kindle FreeTime Unlimited subscription service. Any
Kindle Fire tablet using the FreeTime app will automatically get
access to these newly-added features.
Amazon has gone on to become a veritable consumer electronics
giant from being an Internet retailer initially. The company is
planning to refresh its line-up of Kindle Fire tablets to a
greater extent in the next few months. However, Amazon might not
stop there. If rumors are to be believed, the company has many
more devices in the works, including a smartphone, an audio
streaming device and an
) TV competitor.
Though Amazon's hardware competes with both Apple and
), it is much more destructive for the search giant. This is
because Amazon has adopted Google's Android operating system, but
not Google Play.
Amazon is one of the leading players in an extremely fast-growing
market. In the last reported quarter, Amazon's revenues of $17.09
billion were up sequentially as well as from the year-ago
quarter. Management attributed the revenue increase to the
growing consumption of digital content across different
categories owing to the advantageous value proposition Amazon
provides to its customers.
