American Public Education Profit Tops Estimate - Quick Facts

(RTTNews.com) - American Public Education Inc. ( APEI ) Thursday reported fourth-quarter net income of $13.2 million or $0.74 per share, compared with $13 million or $0.71 per share last year.

Revenues for the quarter were $86 million, compared with $75.7 million a year ago.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.67 per share on revenues of $84.96 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Looking ahead to the first quarter, the company expects net income of $0.55 to $0.58 per share. Revenues are expected to increase 9 and 13 percent, compared with $75.82 million in the prior year.

Analysts currently expect earnings of $0.60 per share on revenues of $85.25 million for the first quarter.
