(RTTNews.com) - Technology outsourcing and consultancy firm Accenture Plc ( ACN ) Wednesday announced that it has signed a multi-year application outsourcing agreement with HDFC ERGO General Insurance Company Limited, an India-based general insurance company.

Under the deal, Accenture will develop, implement and manage a range of existing digital applications for the insurer. Accenture will maintain and upgrade HDFC ERGO's existing digital channels, including web portals and mobile applications.

Accenture added that it will develop analytical models to help the insurer better adapt its sales strategy according to its customers' evolving needs.

The company noted that it has signed a separate contract in 2011, under which Accenture has helped HDFC ERGO establish its digital foundation by implementing a data warehousing and business intelligence framework.

Piyush Singh, managing director and head of Accenture's financial services operating group in India, said, "As customers in India increasingly expect to be able to interact with insurers across digital channels, companies are faced with the challenge of providing multiple options to suit customer needs. HDFC ERGO is a very strategic and long relationship for us and we are pleased to be their partners supporting them in executing their plans."
