| NASDAQ ANNOUNCES CHANGE TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS
New York, NY — The Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc. (“NASDAQ®”; OTCBB: NDAQ) today announced that Sir Martin Sorrell, Chief Executive and Director of the WPP Group has retired from the Board of Directors following the completion of the May 26, 2004 annual meeting. Sir Martin cited the demands of his role at WPP and logistics as an overseas Board member as the reasons for retirement. The Board of Directors has elected to reduce the board by one to 17 members following Sir Martin's departure.
